It has never been a better time to talk about cyber security than now.
Cyber security in 2019 and beyond is no longer just about protecting sensitive data and keeping hackers away from our systems. Today, mobile apps, big data and AI are disrupting many traditional business models, creating integrations (and holes) we have never seen before as they open up new paradigms. We, as practitioners, have to act fast to protect enterprises’ and individuals’ data from been exposed to privacy breaches, and data misused, among other concerns. Yes, it has never been a better time to talk about cyber security than now. The demand of IT professionals is still rising rapidly. The IT talent is still in short supply amid Smart Nation push. At the forefront is the need to nurture true cyber security people.
“With rapid technology advancement, the corporate field is now very dependent on technology, and they are using it increasingly to store confidential data and information. This global situation is also attracting cyber criminals who are interested to get access to these important information. Therefore, with the increase in the theft of data and information such as the Sony Email leak and Target credit card situation, concerted effort is required from Cyber Forensics and Cyber Security experts to work well together.”
It’s always my pleasure coaching young folks about Cyber Security using sharing real life examples.
