Hatchling Course (Age 7 - 9)

Start your children’s learning journey with the Hatching course. Using storytelling as the main mode of content delivery, our budding talents will learn how to think sequentially and identify appropriate commands to continue a story plot. The course is designed to be highly interactive and engaging for your children in their concrete operational stages from 7 to 9. The incorporation of relevant storytelling elements will also develop core logical thinking abilities and provide abundant opportunities for budding talents to expand their creativity.

Module 1 engage our little coders to learn how to express themselves from the story point of view and to express their thoughts. By presenting them a scenario with scratch, your child will be tasked with their first step of creative thinking by expressing themselves with what they see in the class. This encourages them to be able to learn together with their peers and build upon their preoperational skills.

Module 2 focuses on building our little coders the ability to be creative and write their own stories together with their peers to spark their interest in working with others to create together. This level will also build up their foundation for languages and adapt them with concrete thinking capabilities.

At Module 3, our little coders will be tasked with their first adventure to creating their first publishable game with scratch. This allows them to expand beyond their capabilities to freely create and understand fully the logic of coding and scratch while building upon their computational thinking skills. In this level, the little coders will be utilizing all their skills learnt from the whole of hatchling along with guidance from their teachers to develop a certified project that they can call their own. At the end of the courses, your little coders will be issued a certified MWG hatchling certificate.

Nestling Course (Age 10 - 12)

The Nestling course focuses on game development and machine learning theory which our young talents are guaranteed a guided hands-on experience in building their very own game. As our little coder’s transition into the final stages of their concrete operational development years, they begin to develop a sharper sense of logical and operational thoughts as well as learning how to quantify numbers (mass, weight). Therefore, by introducing project-based learning as our medium of delivery, this course not only lays the foundation building blocks of coding but also giving them an opportunity to understand how a computer learns while developing essential soft skills for programming. The hands-on experience aims to spark the passion for coding in our young talents.

Module 1 will engage our young talents to experience building an advance game with machine learning which will build up on scratch fundamentals but with the additional knowledge in machine learning when they are building a game, allowing them to understand the interaction between their commands and how the computer learns and adapt. This is to ensure that while building their logical thinking, they will be given the opportunity to learn how a computer thinks when they are learning.

Module 2 is the next stage of building up our little coders one step closer to the world of computing and programming as we give teach them the basis of event-based functions. This will engage them to think about the process of creating an event based on the current situation and what they think will happen after that. As this will allow them to look at how each event affects the other event allowing them to develop a sense of insight.

Module 3 will put our little coders to the next step of programming, by incorporating all the knowledge that they have acquired, they will be guided to design a project combining all their knowledge from the previous Nestling classes as well as doing code recognition with mBlock. This project will mark a step of accomplishment for the little coders after they completed it as the completion of this project will be issued a MWG nestling certificate.

Fledgling Course (Age 13 +)

The Fledgling course brings the students a step closer to real-world application coding and development. On top of other coding essentials, the highly popular and widely used programming language Python will also be covered in this course. Students will be allowed to solve a real-world problem by building an application. The program is structured such that complex programming content is in bite-sized digestible modules for the students to pick up and learn easily.

Module 1 is the first step of maturity for our coders as they are now equipped with the skills to tackle real-world problems with the most popular programming language which is python. Our students will develop adaptability and progress with the current market trends and beyond. In this module, the students will be taught the fundamentals of application development with a module to solve real-world problems.

Module 2 focuses on building on the fundamentals that were taught in the previous level allowing them to dive deeper into Python and it’s advance coding techniques to meet the market standards. Module 3 will be putting our students one step closer to the real-world standards of computer programming. In this level, our students will be given a project to gauge their skills with advance python programming and advance application development to fully develop a project that they can bring out of this course. With this project, they will be given the MWG certified programming certificate to certify the milestone achieved.
